Patience, perseverance and endurance

Winter in Australia

Today I ran 1.5 kilometres along the beach front. I had to really push myself and gave myself a really good talking to ... willing myself to step it up and push through the no go zone, that place somewhere between quitting and taking it easy. Other joggers whizzed past me, effortless it would seem as I co-ordinated my breathing and jogging routine. Two months on and I am hanging in there, focusing on patience, perseverance and endurance. I am choosing to see the light at the end of the tunnel, the silver lining ... the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. I'm still waiting for the good-feeling endorphins to take over so I can really enjoy this thing ... I'm still waiting though (Maybe one day soon!!)  In the meantime I am mastering the art of 'mind over matter' and catching my breath has been a refreshing change.

Let us run with perseverance the race set before us. (Heb 12:1-2)

capture, celebrate, cherish

There are days when I hit it and days that I don't -- that rush of endorphins. Kind of like regular life, if I think about it. But no matter what we feel, it doesn't make the race any less good or any less important. We simply must keep running. Good to see you here at SDG! Praying for endurance for you, friend.

Keep running. You are out there, that is what matters. Praying God increases your endurance every day.

I need to start with the mind over matter! I want to get out there and experience those endorphins. Thanks for the encouragement

Yes, you are out there, I still need to get the "get up and go" when it comes to exercising. I use to be so good at it and I have fallen back.
You have inspired me. I just may go put on my tennis shoes and run up the street:)
You keep going girl! :)

Choosing to see the light...good job, girl. Sometimes that's half the battle.

That actually sounds awesome; running on the beach front (no oceans here where I live!) I can relate to your post though; at times any exercise seems like a chore. Keep your thoughts on persevering though, and enjoy the quiet and beautiful time with your thoughts and praise! :)
