Baby Watoto

One month on and my heart strings continue to be tugged back and forth. Uganda has left its mark upon my heart, forever imprinted with purpose. Life has settled into a smooth and steady routine as I continue to sift through the thoughts, feelings and emotions of this amazing experience. Thank goodness for photos. I get to experience it all over again, every little detail. I have been sorting, editing and arranging my photos. Life is about to get a whole lot busier as I head back to work, all so bitter-sweet!  If I shut my eyes I am transported, back to these wonderful memories. How is it that a place can leave its mark upon you so indelibly? How does your heart remember things that your mind may have already forgotten?

I have the most divine little African face smiling at me from a photo frame sitting on my sofa table. Deep brown mesmerising eyes are fixed intently on me, hopeful and expectant! His smile infectious. My heart seems to have been misplaced. My soul longs for more. "What now?" ... I am still working that one through. But for now, I have a few ideas!
