5 Minute Friday: Rest
Linking with the Gypsy Mama today. (Even though it is Saturday in Australia, so I am a bit late.)
Here are the rules:
1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.
2. Link back here and invite others to join in.
3. Go a little overboard encouraging the writer who linked up before you.

so here we go ...
When my body is tired and weary there is nothing better than taking time out to just sit and relax. Relaxing on the swing outside or sitting with a cup of tea is a favourite of mine. I love the opportunity to feel the warmth of the sun on my skin, to reflect or contemplate life ... But how about the soul, how do you let your soul rest?
When the busyness of life invades deep into the core of who you are ... right to your heart and soul ... when the breath is knocked out of you, when wounds open up or pain runs deep ... how does you soul fare?
I am currently on a journey ... and discovering how to allow my soul to rest amidst the storms of life ... to allow my soul to be still in the eye of the storm ... to pause when storm clouds threaten ... to rest even when the horizon is dark and ominous.

History behind the song
4 'heart 2 hearts'…heartfelt comments here.:
That is truly when the rest is hardest for us to find but best when God gives it to us: during the storm. I pray during those seasons that God will give me the focus on him that Peter had when he stepped out of the boat and onto the water. God, keep our eyes fixed on you and not the storm, amen.
I know from experience that rest in the midst of life's storms is hard to find sometimes. Bless you for being so open about this and I hope you find rest on your journey.
mmmm... yes! rest for a soul amidst the storms of life.
I love the last bit - I am currently on a journey ... and discovering how to allow my soul to rest a midst the storm.... this is where I want to be. Great 5 minute post
God bless
